At Dachshund Dude Ranch, all breeding pairings are carefully planned by us based on our health, temperament, and genetic standards. Once an upcoming pairing is announced and listed on our website as a confirmed pregnancy, clients have the opportunity to reserve a Priority Selection Spot for that specific litter.

To prevent overbooking, the number of available priority spots varies by litter and is based on the expected litter size of the mother. For example, a smaller female or first-time mother may have only 2 priority spots available, while a mother known for producing larger litters may have 4–5 spots available.

To secure a priority position on a specific litter, a client must submit a $200 non-refundable Priority, but transferable, fee. Priority spots are assigned in the order fees are received.

Dachshund Dude Ranch always reserves the right to retain first-pick puppy(ies) for our own breeding program before client selections begin.

When the puppies are approximately 3 weeks old, priority holders for that litter will be contacted in the order their Priority Fees were received. Each client will have a 12-hour window to either:

• Select an available puppy, or
• Pass and remain eligible for a future litter.

Because nature is unpredictable, we cannot guarantee litter size, gender, coat type, color, or pattern.

If a selected litter does not produce the puppy a client is hoping for, or if the litter is too small to reach their priority position, the $200 Priority Fee is not forfeited. Instead, it automatically transfers to a Priority Selection Spot on any future pairing of the client’s choice.

To keep the process fair and moving forward, Dachshund Dude Ranch reserves the right to limit the number of times a client may pass when we are actively offering a puppy that matches the profile they originally requested. If timing rather than puppy availability is the reason for passing, we may ask the client to contact us again when they are ready to begin their search.

Once a client selects a puppy, the $200 Priority Fee immediately converts into that puppy’s official reservation deposit and is applied directly toward the final purchase price. A confirmation email will be sent at that time.

Clients who would like to increase their chances of finding the right puppy sooner may place separate Priority Fees on multiple upcoming litters. If a client is on multiple priority lists and ultimately selects a puppy from one of those litters, all Priority Fees they have submitted will be combined and applied toward the purchase price of that puppy.

After all paid priority holders for a litter have made their selections or passed, any remaining puppies will be offered in the following order:

1. The free waiting list for that specific litter
2. Our general contact list
3. The public through our website and social media platforms

This system allows interested families early access to specific planned litters while ensuring flexibility when litter outcomes differ from expectations.
